Marie has been inspired by her curiosity as a young girl of how the body works. She was fascinated by human anatomy and physiology as well as helping people, so she decided to become a physical therapist. With 30 years of experience, she initially practiced PT in Paris France and in Rome Italy, before coming to San Francisco.
Working with patients with various orthopedic conditions/injuries, as well as spinal dysfunctions, lymphedema conditions are among her favorite interests. She loves also to treat knees and shoulders. She has worked mostly in outpatients settings and she has experience in sub acute hospitals.
Marie is a French native, she obtained her PT degree at Ecole Francaise de Masso-Kinesitherapie in Paris France in 1985, then she practiced in Paris in a private studio before moving to Rome for two years, where she was part of the rehabilitation team in a Spine Center for adults and children.
She came to San Francisco in 1990, after hard studies and passing all her examinations she received her California Physical Therapy License.
She has been a Certified Pilates Teacher through Balanced Body since 2010.
She is certified in Manual Lymph Drainage and Complex Decongestive Therapy through Vodder School. In addition her toolbag includes a variety of manual therapies, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, Mulligan concept.
She believes in a whole- body approach, incorporating Mind Body Spirit.
"I give special attention on listening, observing, developing goals together with my patient, implementing PT treatment plan, manual therapy and exercises education".
"Pilates exercises are addictive, I do Pilates and I teach Pilates because I found it was the most effective way to help myself and my patient to get way better faster".
In her spare time, Marie loves to bike, run, dance, cook French and Italian cuisine for her family and friends, to play piano, to travel with her husband and two teenage boys.
